Departments of San Marino Public Administration

San Marino Public Administration is divided up into Departments. Each Department consists of a plurality of offices with homogeneous functions, purpose and scope.
According to Law no. 188/2011 the task of Departments, as already established by Article 8 of Law no. 105 of 31 July 2009, is to ensure the consistent and integrated operation of the sectors falling within their competence; moreover, they are entrusted with the task of supporting, guiding, providing impulse and coordinating the Organisational Units into which they are divided.
The Director of the Department is, in the vertical line, responsible for the organisation of the relevant department. He favours and enhances the contribution of the Heads of the various Organisational Units, shares with them the plans and projects, including through the Department Council, and collects the indications received from them to achieve the objectives assigned to the department itself.
The Directors and Heads of Department are the administrative and technical reference for the Ministers and the Congress of State, as well as for the administration as a whole.
